The Freak Squad — Affiliate Program Terms

Last updated: 2026-09-04. These terms govern your participation in the Mile High Glass Pipes affiliate program ("The Freak Squad").

1. What is The Freak Squad?

The Freak Squad is Mile High Glass Pipes' ("MHGP", "we", "our", "us") affiliate program. As an affiliate, you receive a unique discount code and referral URL that you may share with friends, followers, or your audience. When someone uses your code or URL to make a purchase on milehighglasspipes.com, you earn a commission on that sale.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.
  • You must maintain an active customer account with MHGP.
  • Employees of MHGP and their immediate family are not eligible.

3. Commission structure

  • Commission rate: 10% of the order subtotal (excluding shipping, tax, and any 100%-discounted line items) on every attributed order.
  • Referred customer discount: The customer who uses your code receives 10% off their first order.
  • Attribution methods: Your discount code (e.g., JADE10) applied at checkout, OR the customer arriving via your referral URL (milehighglasspipes.com/?ref=jade). If both are used, the coupon code takes precedence.
  • Attribution window: URL-based referrals attribute if the order is placed within 30 days of the referral click. Coupon codes attribute at the moment of use with no time limit.
  • Ineligible orders: Cancelled, refunded, chargebacked, or fraudulent orders do not earn commission. If an order that already earned commission is later refunded, the commission is deducted from your pending balance.

4. Payouts

  • Payout schedule: Monthly, on the 1st of each month, for earnings accrued in the prior month.
  • Hold period: Commissions are held for 30 days from the order date to allow for refunds and chargebacks.
  • Minimum payout: $10.00. Balances below the minimum roll over to the next month.
  • Payout options:
    1. Store credit (recommended): Your cash balance × 1.5 as a MHGP store credit code. Example: $40 pending becomes a $60 store credit code. Store credit does not expire.
    2. Cash: Face value, no bonus. Requires a valid PayPal address on file. Cash payouts may take 5-10 business days to process.
  • You choose your payout method from your dashboard each month. Default is store credit if you don't select before the payout runs.

5. FTC Disclosure — required for all promotions

The United States Federal Trade Commission requires that you disclose your affiliate relationship with MHGP any time you promote our products. In practice, this means:

  • Include #ad, #affiliate, or #sponsored in every social post that features your code or a MHGP product.
  • On videos (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube), verbally state or on-screen disclose "I'm a MHGP affiliate" within the first 3 seconds.
  • On written reviews or blog posts, include a clear line: "I receive a commission on sales made through my link."

Failure to disclose can result in FTC action against you personally. It also results in termination of your affiliate account.

6. Prohibited conduct

The following behaviors will result in commission forfeiture and immediate termination of your affiliate account:

  • Self-referral: Using your own code on your own orders, or on orders shipped to your own address.
  • Coupon-code websites: Submitting your code to sites like RetailMeNot, Honey, or similar aggregators.
  • Trademark bidding: Bidding on "Mile High Glass Pipes", "MHGP", or any variation in paid search ads (Google Ads, Bing, etc.).
  • Spam: Unsolicited email, DM blasts, or comment spam using your code or link.
  • Domain squatting: Registering domains that include our trademarks.
  • Content that misrepresents: Fake reviews, false claims about our products, or discounts not actually offered.
  • Sales to minors: Promoting to audiences you know or reasonably should know include people under 21.
  • Fraud: Any attempt to game the system (fake accounts, IP masking to appear as a different customer, etc.).

7. Taxes

Commissions are considered self-employment income. You are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes. If you earn more than $600 in cash commissions in a single calendar year, MHGP will issue you a Form 1099-NEC and file a copy with the IRS. You will be asked to provide a completed Form W-9 before your first cash payout.

Store credit payouts are not reported on 1099-NEC because they are considered a discount on future purchases rather than income. Consult your tax advisor for your specific situation.

8. Term and termination

Either party may terminate participation in The Freak Squad at any time, with or without cause, by giving written notice to the other. Upon termination:

  • Any pending commissions that meet the minimum payout threshold will be paid on the next scheduled payout date.
  • Your discount code will be deactivated.
  • You must remove all references to your affiliate relationship from your social media, website, and other channels within 14 days.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes (commission rate, prohibited conduct, payout methods) will be announced by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued participation after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. All disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado.
