Glow-in-the-dark glass is exactly what it sounds like ā pipes, bongs, and rigs made with phosphorescent pigment fused into the glass. Charge them under bright light and they emit a soft green, blue, or purple glow for hours. Fun for the aesthetic, and useful if you're trying to find your piece in a dark room.
How glow-in-the-dark glass works
The glow comes from phosphorescent pigment (usually strontium aluminate in modern pieces) that absorbs light energy and re-emits it slowly over hours. UV light charges fastest, but any bright indoor lamp works. Sunlight for 10-20 minutes gives you a full charge good for 4-6 hours of visible glow.
Color options
Green glows brightest and longest ā it's the wavelength strontium aluminate emits most efficiently. Blue and purple are dimmer but arguably more striking. Some pieces layer multiple colors for visible-light patterns that only appear in the dark.
Does the glow affect function?
No. Every piece in this collection is functional borosilicate glass ā same durability, same heat resistance as any quality pipe. The glow layer is purely cosmetic and doesn't come into contact with smoke or heat. Clean the same way you'd clean any glass piece.
Care and longevity
Modern strontium-aluminate pigments hold up for years without fading. Isopropyl alcohol cleaning doesn't affect the glow layer. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners and abrasive scrubs ā those can scratch the outer glow surface. Store in daylight or under a lamp for the best glow-on-demand performance.

How does glow-in-the-dark glass actually glow?

How long does the glow last?
Typical afterglow: 3-8 hours after a full charge under bright light. First 30 minutes are the brightest ā brightness fades gradually. Direct UV (blacklight) recharges it fastest.
Does glow-in-the-dark glass work like regular glass?

Will the glow wear off over time?
